Morgan Wallen has been one of the fastest rising stars in the world of country music for many years. Despite some scandals along the way, the 30-year-old singer of «Last Night» has risen to the top of the charts and become a successful crossover artist. His albums «Dangerous: The Double Album» and «One Thing at a Time» both topped the Billboard charts, and his single «Last Night» reached number one on the Hot 100 chart.

Although Morgan is primarily a country artist, he has collaborated with several rappers. He has released several songs collaborating with Lil Durk, Drake, and, this year, Post Malone on their track «I Had Some Help», - which is nominated for the 2024 Country Music Awards.

Here’s what else you need to know about Morgan:

His first studio album, If I Know Me, was released on April 27, 2018. He has previously opened for the 2017 tour of the superstar country duo Florida Georgia Line, and FGL appeared on the second single of the album, «Up Down». Morgan’s third single, «Whiskey Glasses», - was released in the summer of 2018 and became a hit, reaching number one on the country radio chart in June 2019 and becoming one of the biggest hits of the year. If I Know Me finally reached number one on the Billboard Country Album chart in August 2020, 114 weeks after its release.

Morgan violated strict quarantine rules set by SNL due to COVID-19 and was seen in several TikTok videos partying in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, after the University of Alabama football game the previous Saturday. In the videos, Morgan was in a bar and at a house party, taking shots, not observing social distancing, not wearing a mask, and kissing female fans.

On October 7, the then 27-year-old Morgan shared a video on Instagram from his hotel in New York, saying that he was preparing for his performance on Saturday, «and I got a call from the show that I will no longer be able to perform. And this is because of COVID protocols, which I understand». Morgan noted that he tested negative for coronavirus, but his actions over the previous weekend were «pretty short-sighted and obviously affected my long-term goals and dreams».

Two months after he was originally supposed to perform on Saturday Night Live, Morgan appeared on the show as a musical guest. The singer had previously apologized for putting actors and crew «at risk», - partying without a mask and not observing social distancing, promising to «work» on himself and take responsibility. Morgan performed two of his hits, «7 Summers» and «Still Goin' Down», - in the episode hosted by Jason Bateman. He also appeared in a sketch parodying his partying scandal.

The singer appeared in the sixth season of the 2014 music competition. Surprisingly, the Tennessee-born country singer was not on Blake Shelton’s team, as he was initially with coach Usher, and then with Adam Levine’s team before being eliminated in the playoffs.

He welcomed son Indi Wilder in July with former fiancée Katie Smith. Morgan shared a photo on Instagram holding his little one on July 1, writing, «Little Wilder, I’ve changed. I see my future differently now. It’s not just me anymore, and I’m glad it’s not. This year has been the hardest in my life in many ways, but I won’t remember it that way. You».

The singer was heard cursing as he entered his home in Tennessee. Video obtained by TMZ shows Morgan and his friends arriving at the house around midnight and making noise. Neighbors came out, and one of them started recording the incident.

Morgan tells someone to watch over one of the other guys in their group. Among other curses, the country singer says, «take care of this p****-ass n*****». On February 10, 2021, he posted a long apology video to clarify some of his comments. «The video you saw, that’s me on the 72nd hour of a 72-hour bender, and I’m not proud of it in any way»
