Musical stars condemn Trump for using their songs

The mainstream music industry has repeatedly condemned Donald Trump throughout both of his presidential terms. From rock stars to pop artists, many well-known musicians and bands have criticized the Republican president for using their songs to promote his agenda on social media and at rallies.
Hollywood Life compiled a list of the most famous musical artists who have condemned Trump for using their songs.
Sabrina Carpenter condemned the Trump administration in December 2025 for using her song «Juno» in a video that promoted violent ICE raids against immigrants in America. «This video is evil and disgusting», - Sabrina wrote in response to a White House post. «Never associate me or my music with your inhumane agenda».
Olivia Rodrigo also criticized Trump and his team for using her song «All-American Bitch» in a video supporting the deportation of immigrants. «Never use my songs to promote your racist, hate-filled propaganda», - Olivia commented under the White House video in November 2025.
Jack White and Meg White of The White Stripes have repeatedly stated that they did not give Trump permission to use their song «Seven Nation Army» in his ads or at rallies. In September 2024, the band members filed a complaint against Trump in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, accusing him of copyright and trademark infringement. However, in November 2024, they filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of the complaint.
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith demanded that Trump’s team stop playing the band’s songs «Dream On» and «Living on the Edge» at his political rallies. In August 2024, Celine Dion’s team released a public statement after Trump used her famous song «My Heart Will Go On» at a rally in Montana. «This use was not authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use… and really, this song?» representatives of Celine said in the statement.
ABBA’s record label, Universal Music, reached out to the organizers of a pro-Trump event in Minnesota when their music was used. «Together with the members of ABBA, we discovered that videos had been released in which ABBA’s music/videos were used at Trump events, and we therefore demanded the immediate removal of such use», - the company stated in August 2024.
Beyoncé's song «Freedom» was used to promote Kamala Harris’s campaign against Trump in 2024, but Republican representative Stephen Chuang used the track in a video on X.com documenting Trump’s arrival at a rally. In response, Beyoncé's label sent Trump a letter demanding he cease its use.

Former Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose has repeatedly criticized Trump for using the band’s songs, including «Sweet Child o' Mine», - at various events. In 2019, Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon condemned the use of Ozzy’s song «Crazy Train» in a video against the Democrats. In a joint statement, the Osbournes said: «[W]e are sending a notice to the Trump campaign (or any other campaigns) that they are prohibited from using any music by Ozzy Osbourne in political advertising or in any political campaigns».
Rihanna’s team threatened legal action against Trump in 2018 for using her track «Please Don’t Stop the Music» at various rallies. Members of The Rolling Stones condemned Trump in 2016 and again in 2020 for using their song «You Can’t Always Get What You Want»
