The cast of the «Below Deck» franchise has largely refrained from commenting on Nathan Gallagher’s arrest on charges of domestic violence. Nathan became known to viewers when he joined «Below Deck Mediterranean» in its ninth season in 2024, where he quickly became close with Gaëlle Cameron. Eventually, they began dating, and in June 2025, they welcomed their first child, Kaiden.
In 2026, during the eleventh season, Nathan attempted to balance fatherhood with his career; however, in August 2026, it was revealed that he had been arrested in Australia in December 2025 on charges of domestic violence against a 29-year-old woman. Nathan was charged with causing bodily harm, non-consensual choking, and simple assault. He was later released on bail but failed to appear in court and was found guilty on three counts of domestic violence.
In a statement to Rolling Stone in August 2026, Nathan noted, «I'm not claiming to have been perfect. I made mistakes and will take responsibility for my actions. I will not accept being portrayed from only one side when there is another side and evidence pertaining to it».
According to Us Weekly, Gaëlle filed a restraining order against Nathan in New South Wales. Following Nathan’s arrest, Bravo network fired him.
Former cast members and other stars of the franchise found ways to support Gaëlle, commenting on the situation. Gaëlle thanked everyone for their support in September 2026, noting that she is using this time for healing and recovery.
Aesha Scott, in her Instagram, urged for «a little mercy» for Gaëlle, emphasizing that she has been through tough times. Other cast members, such as chef Joy LeFou and Joe Bradley, also expressed their support by excluding Nathan from their photos.
After Nathan’s arrest, Ben Willoughby posted a video criticizing the show’s casting, while Kyle Stille shared his experience, noting that producers seek out conflicts to create drama.
