John Stewart quickly became the main news after CBS announced the shocking cancellation of «The Late Show with Stephen Colbert» in July 2025. As John currently hosts «The Daily Show» along with Jordan Klepper, Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic, Michael Kosta, and several correspondents, Comedy Central fans fear that its parent company, Paramount Global, may also cancel the show.

However, the veteran comedian admitted that he «honestly doesn’t know» about the future of «The Daily Show», - but added, «I would like to believe that … Without 'The Daily Show,' Comedy Central is somehow dead. I think we’re the only thing alive that exists on a current basis, besides 'South Park'».
John noted that he believes their show «brings enough value» to Comedy Central, but acknowledged that «it may not be their consideration».
Only time will tell what will happen to «The Daily Show».
CBS executives insisted that «The Late Show» is ending for financial reasons.
«It's purely a financial decision in a challenging late-night environment», - their statement read. «It's not related to the show’s performance, content, or other issues happening at Paramount».
However, critics and some public figures questioned whether the end of «The Late Show» was related to CBS’s $ 16 million settlement with Donald Trump. Politicians, including Adam Schiff and Elizabeth Warren, publicly asked if Stephen’s show’s cancellation was political.
If Paramount and CBS ended «The Late Show» for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And they deserve better.
