Unknown caller contacted police before New Jersey family murder-suicid
On the eve of the tragedy in New Jersey, where a family died as a result of an alleged murder-suicide, an anonymous call to the police reported suspicious circumstances at their $ 1.7 million home. According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, the caller, whose identity has not been established, expressed concern about the family, which consisted of married couple David and Laura Grodnik and their daughter Sloan.

On October 1 at 2:59 PM local time, police arrived at the scene but were unable to contact the Grodnicks. The next day, upon returning to the house, law enforcement officers discovered the bodies of Laura, 62, and Sloan, 24, in separate bedrooms, as well as the body of David, 61, in another part of the house. His death was ruled a suicide.

The prosecutor’s office reported that the investigation is ongoing, but it has already been determined that the murders of Laura and Sloan Grodnik were an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety. The press release also noted that additional information is not yet available.

According to information published by the New York Post, David and Laura moved to the Princeton area due to the advantages of the local school system for their daughter with special needs. In 2018, they sued a realtor who, they claimed, misappropriated a $ 33,800 deposit after they were misled about renting unsafe housing in 2016. The case was closed in September 2019 without any admission of guilt from either party.
