Visitors to Comic Con in San Diego did not expect the appearance of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, but they got it! On Thursday, July 25, the dynamic duo crashed the Marvel panel «The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life» and showed the film Deadpool & Wolverine, where they interacted with fans about the making of the movie.
«We've been all over the world with this film, but the best part is here and now», - said Hugh, 55. Ryan, 47, then recalled his first Comic Con after the release of Deadpool. He admitted that he was «the most nervous person you’ve ever seen» at the time.
«I was stepping into a fairy tale that came true, in a way, but I remember making this film for you, and I remember how nice it was that everyone else loved it too», - the actor said. «I feel like I was able to connect with you the way I really wanted to». He then jokingly pointed at Hugh and said, «And I will never forget this moment, because this idiot was backstage».
Hugh added, «I was right there. I looked at the recording, and this choir started: 'One more time, one more time.' I ran backstage and found the director, and said, 'Show the recording one more time. If you don’t show this damn recording again, they will destroy Hall H'».
Hall H at Comic Con is where fans line up until they are allowed to enter the hall. However, for this particular event, Marvel introduced a lottery so visitors could reserve seats. Winners got a special screening of Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as a new bucket of popcorn. When the screening started, Ryan and Hugh left the stage, shouting, «Let's go!» — the film’s main motto.
Ryan also noted that it was an «emotional honor and privilege to stand here next to the X-Men», - addressing the X-Men actor.
Earlier this week, both actors were in New York for the premiere of their film, which is the first MCU project to be rated R.
