Nikola Cullan marked the release of the second part of the third season of «Bridgerton» with a photo in which she posed next to Luke Newton on a chair, the leg of which broke during a sex scene on Thursday, June 13. «Part two is out now, we put our hearts into it, hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed filming it #PolinForever», - the 37-year-old actress captioned the post.
This long-awaited announcement came shortly after both actors accidentally let slip this news during a press tour for the show. «There were moments when we could explore the scene and try it in different ways, and that led to the furniture breaking», - recalled the 31-year-old actor during an interview with 7News Australia.
He added, «And then, I think Nikola started talking, like a true Irishwoman, and I thought it would be so special — maybe it will be in the final edit, we’ll start laughing — because I think it’s very much like Colin and Pen. So that would be great».
The photo definitely became a bright moment for the two on-screen lovers, as well as for the show’s production team. Intimacy coordinator on the show, Lizzy Talbot, reposted the picture and noted, «I've been waiting for THIS forever! This is probably my favorite work photo. You just KNOW it’s going to be a great scene when something like this happens… You absolutely NAILED this season in every sense of the word, and it was a complete pleasure and privilege to work with you. The two kindest people who have ever set foot on a set. We knew we had something special, and it’s just incredible to be able to share it. It was a scene I will never forget, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved».
Despite the need to film intimate scenes, Luke told People magazine, «You play it in previous seasons and in previous scenes, but you can’t really prepare to undress in front of your friends». Nikola added, «In these intimate moments, they find moments to laugh, and you see how they figure it out and do it together, and I love that».
In an April interview with SiriusXM Hits 1, the actress recalled filming scenes, saying, «We were, between scenes, and they would say to us, 'Do you want to stand up and put clothes on?' And we’d say, 'We'll just sit here.' Like, under the covers… But we had the advantage of knowing each other for many years»
