Nora O’Donnell is no longer the host of CBS Evening News — the long-awaited journalist completed her final shift at the famous news desk on Thursday, January 23, 2025. John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois will now host the show, according to USA Today.

She gained recognition on the competing network NBC before joining CBS, appearing on the Today Show, working as NBC’s chief correspondent in Washington and White House correspondent for NBC News, as well as hosting MSNBC Live. She also worked as a host on Weekend Today and a reporter for Dateline NBC, NBC Nightly News, and MSNBC.
In a statement released by CBS last summer, Nora said she was simply ready to move on. «I have spent 12 years in the anchor chair here at CBS News, tied to the daily broadcast and the challenges of the continuous news cycle», - she said at the time. «It's time to do something else. These presidential elections will be my seventh as a journalist, and for many of us in this business, we tend to evaluate our careers through these important events».
In its own statement, CBS noted that Nora is not leaving the network despite stepping down from CBS Evening News.
