On the red carpet of the MTV VMAs 2026, Normani encountered a wardrobe malfunction, which she discussed in an interview with Extra. According to her, «the whole dress ripped», - leaving one side exposed.
Normani noted that her hair stylist and tailor joined forces to fix the situation. When asked how she would manage to get out of the tight dress, the singer joked, «Oh, we’re going to have to cut it». Despite the incident, Normani remained calm, adding that «you can’t have a VMAs without drama».
She also expressed her excitement about the performances of Madonna and Taylor Swift, stating, «I'm such a girl. I support all the ladies… I’m here for the girls». Normani also shared that she is actively recording new music and looks forward to delighting her fans.
