New contestant of the show «The Bachelorette» Jenn Tran dispels rumors that Daisy Kent and Maria Georgas turned down the role before she got it, in an episode of the «Call Her Daddy» podcast with Alex Cooper on Wednesday, June 26.
«Obviously, I didn’t have my phone at the time when all of this was happening, because we started filming right after everything was announced… Looking back on it, yes, I was really disappointed to see all of this, because, I mean, the truth is that there are many different versions, and they don’t necessarily match reality», - said 26-year-old Jenn.
Jenn was announced as the first Asian «Bachelorette» in March after failing to find love with then-bachelor Joey Grazidei. During filming, Maria shared with Alex during an interview for the podcast: «I was offered the role. It was mine until I said I couldn’t, and yes, it became very overwhelming, until the point where I had to decline».
Daisy also mentioned the offer she received during an interview with Nick Viall on «The Viall Files» podcast: «There are several reasons [for declining the role]… And one of them is my health. I knew that being the lead role carries a lot of responsibility — not only emotionally, but also physically».
The main character clarified that her role was not accepted at the last moment, and said: «They asked me, and I had a choice, and I chose it. I said yes… What is being said now was disappointing to come back from this incredible journey for me and see all these speculations that almost take away my journey».
She said: «It took me some time to really find my voice in some things… This is what I am proud of, that I can say: 'This is my time and my journey'. This is what I want to focus on, because now I have a voice to speak about it and stand up for my position. This is my journey, I am so happy about it, and I am so glad that everyone will finally see it».
