The 50-year-old TV host has been hosting this iconic show since 2005. In an interview with Variety, Ryan recalled his favorite moments from 20 years of hosting the December 31 broadcast. «It's hard to pick a favorite», - he said. «There's a favorite every year, but I can’t remember all the years. I think my favorite was my first year hosting solo after Dick passed the baton to me, because I felt incredible pressure. I couldn’t enjoy it because I felt so stressed. But looking back, I’m glad it all happened that way, and I’m still here».
During the interview, he recalled moments from his work, including a time when he gave his coat to someone who was cold. His coat contained all his communication equipment with the control room, which made him realize how much he enjoys the moment and sometimes forgets that it’s his real job.

The annual New Year’s Eve show will be broadcast on ABC.
In addition to cable broadcast, the show will be available for viewing on Hulu — but only starting the next day, New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.
