The great and powerful Steven Spielberg once again brings us a disturbing science fiction film after such works as the friendly «E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial», - the frightening adaptation of «War of the Worlds», - and the mysterious «Close Encounters of the Third Kind».
Film enthusiasts will have to wait six months for Spielberg’s new movie to be released, and for now, we only have a teaser. So, what is «Disclosure Day» about? Hollywood Life shares details about the plot below.
As seen in the teaser, the film features Emily Blunt, who plays a meteorologist from Kansas City. Apparently, she becomes a victim of some alien effect when she starts to stutter and makes a clicking sound live on air.
Josh O’Connor also stars in the lead role. The supporting cast includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.
Judging by the tense trailer, Josh plays an informant who intends to simultaneously inform 7 billion people about a supposed alien invasion. The teaser then shows him standing in a circle in a field.
«People have the right to know the truth», - says Josh’s character in the trailer, adding that he wants «full disclosure, for the whole world, at once».
Colin’s character is later shown in a chair, apparently witnessing something unbearable. He wears a mouthguard and wires on his head, his eyes widening in shock at the apparent «disclosure».
Fans have already dubbed the upcoming film the new «Spielberg UFO movie», - but judging by its ominous teaser, the story seems to focus more on how humanity copes with the truth about contact with other forms of life beyond Earth.
