New season of Saturday Night Live: Veronika Slovikovskaya joins the team!

Right now, Saturday Night Live is shaking things up for its 51st season with a new wave of talent, and Veronika Slovikovskaya is one of the new faces joining the iconic cast. The 29-year-old comedian first caught attention with her surreal sketches on TikTok and Instagram, where her absurd humor and quick wit earned her a dedicated audience. Since then, she has made her way to television with roles in Davey & Jonesie’s Locker and Tires on Netflix. Now, she is ready to bring her unique comedic voice to Studio 8H.

Born in Barrie, Ontario in 1995, Veronika studied at Randolph College for the Performing Arts before joining the Canadian Film Centre Conservatory for Actors.
Before landing on SNL, Veronika carved out a space for herself online through surreal, unconventional sketches on Instagram and TikTok. Her account @veronika.is.stupid has amassed over a million followers thanks to her strange, reality-referencing, and wonderfully absurd humor. She often collaborates with fellow comedian Kyle Chase, and their eccentric videos have become fan favorites on her social platforms.
In 2024, Veronika starred in the Canadian sci-fi comedy Davey & Jonesie’s Locker, playing one of two best friends traveling through strange alternate universes.
In 2024, Veronika landed a recurring role as Kelly in the Netflix workplace comedy Tires, created and directed by comedian Shane Gillis.
The show follows the chaotic ups and downs of a struggling auto repair shop, and Veronika’s character quickly became a fan favorite. The show was well-received by both audiences and critics, and in July 2025, it was renewed for a third season.
When NBC announced the cast for the 51st season, Veronika shared her excitement on Instagram, simply writing: «Dreams do come true. See you on Saturdays».
Just before the official announcement, she appeared on the comedy podcast Take Your Shoes Off, where she playfully dodged a question about whether she hoped to join SNL. «I don’t know if I can say», - she joked, then quickly added, «Cut that out, cut that out, don’t say anything!»
