The official cause of death for «Euphoria» star Angus Cloud was revealed two months after his passing. According to TMZ, the HBO actor died from a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and other substances. His death was ruled an accidental overdose. The Alameda County coroner reported that the actor suffered from acute poisoning due to a combination of drugs, which also included benzodiazepines.
Angus passed away on July 31, 2023, and his family released a statement to TMZ on the same day. «With heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to an incredible person today», - the statement began. «As an artist, friend, brother, and son, Angus was special to all of us in many ways. Last week, he buried his father and was deeply affected by this loss».
The statement continued: «The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus openly spoke about his struggles with mental health, and we hope that his passing will remind others that they are not alone and do not have to fight this in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still grieving this terrible loss».
Immediately after news of his death broke, TMZ reported that his mother made a 911 call to report a «possible overdose», - noting that he had no pulse around 11:30 AM on July 31 of that year. A source also told the publication that after his father’s death, Angus experienced «intense suicidal thoughts» and had just returned from a trip to Ireland to bury his father. Angus was later pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported that at the time of his death, he was at a relative’s home in Oakland.
Angus’s role as Fezco in the popular HBO series «Euphoria» marked a breakthrough in his acting career.
