Olivia Mann and John Mulani welcomed their second child — a daughter!

On Sunday, September 22, the 44-year-old actress and 42-year-old comedian shared photos of their new baby girl, Mae June Mulani, on social media. She joined their son, Malcolm Hiep Mulani.

While the arrival of their daughter was a joyful event for the couple, this year has been challenging for Mann. She announced her breast cancer diagnosis on March 13 via Instagram, seeking to offer comfort and support to others facing similar difficulties. After the diagnosis, Mann underwent a double mastectomy and hysterectomy as part of her treatment. Despite these challenges, the couple, who began dating in 2021, celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding in July during an intimate ceremony at a friend’s home in New York. According to a source for PEOPLE, the only attendees were their son Malcolm and a witness to sign the marriage certificate.

Here’s everything you need to know about the two children of proud parents, Malcolm and Mae.

The couple’s first child was born on November 24, 2021. Mulani shared the news on Instagram, writing: «Meet Malcolm Hiep Mulani. He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried seltzer. I am so in love with him and his whole being. Happy holidays».

Mann also shared a post on Instagram, welcoming her son, signing it: «My golden boy. Malcolm Hiep Mulani. Happy holidays».

Later, Mann explained in an Instagram Story that Malcolm’s name has special meaning. When Malcolm was five months old, she introduced him to his uncle Vinh Hiep Luong, after whom she named him. «Malcolm met his uncle. His middle name is named after him», - Mann shared, calling her uncle her «favorite». She recalled, «When we got new belts in taekwondo, he would buy us banana splits and tell us not to tell our mom».

Proud parents often share moments of Malcolm on social media, noting everything from his first words and steps to a particularly exciting moment — his first visit to a restaurant. «Crazy pho for you. Malcolm goes to his first restaurant», - Mann captioned a post on Instagram, showing her baby sitting on her lap and enjoying pho. Other photos included Mulani and Mann’s mother, Kim Mann, posing for a group photo with Malcolm.

Mulani announced that he and Mann were expecting Malcolm during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in September 2021. «I entered this wonderful relationship with an incredible person … And we are expecting a child together», - he told host Seth Meyers at the time.

He also expressed gratitude, saying, «Olivia and this child helped me save myself in this early path out of rehab». Mulani went into treatment in late 2020 after a decade-long struggle with addiction.

The couple’s second child was born via a surrogate mother on September 14, 2024. «Mae June Mulani came into the world on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon», - Mann shared in her Instagram post on September 22.

«I had so many deep emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate, we spoke as mothers. She showed me so much grace and understanding; I knew I had found a true angel. Words cannot express my gratitude for her carrying our child safely for nine months and making our dreams come true».

Mann also revealed the significance of her daughter’s name: «I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart is bursting». She explained, «Mae (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese».

In an interview with Vogue, Mann shared her experience with fertility, mentioning that she froze her eggs three times — at the ages of 33, 39, and 42 — after her breast cancer diagnosis. She expressed her willingness to use a surrogate mother and her desire to continue expanding her family
