Olivia Mann admitted that she felt «shock» after a double mastectomy during the latest episode of the SHE MD podcast. «I thought, 'Oh, so many styles, so many things that I will never be able to wear again… It just felt like someone took my breasts off, and then took tape, paper, and duct tape, and said, 'Here,'» expressed the 43-year-old actress.
«I was alone in the bathroom, and I looked at them and cried like I had never cried in my life. I cried… I was shocked. I didn’t recognize myself. I didn’t know how I would ever dress again», - shared the actress.
After having her breasts removed, «small and stylish» implants were placed to fill the skin, after she clarified to the nurse that she did not want large breasts because it «would look like plastic surgery».
«I wanted to hide the scars… I wanted to hide the sides of the implant and feel comfortable. Maybe someday I will become more comfortable with this», - said Olivia.
Despite being diagnosed with stage 1 aggressive Luminal B breast cancer in March, her first thought was her son Malcolm — whom she shares with John Malani. «If I didn’t survive, I wanted my son, when he grows up, to know that I fought to be here… That I did everything possible», - Olivia previously shared on Good Morning America.
Although she is currently in a battle, she admitted that she hopes to welcome another child into the world after freezing her eggs. «We just really hope that we can have another child… We just want one more. I won’t ask for too much in this life, I promise. I just want one more child», - said the actress from the show «The Rookie».
The «X-Men» star emphasized the importance of family in her life. «The most important thing to me in life is my family… Everything else can go. I may not have a career, my body may not look the same as before, but as long as the people I love and care about are here and healthy and thriving, nothing else matters», - she added
