In Florida, Olivia Piccolo spoke out after a tragedy in which her ex-partner Joseph Dingwall killed their two children and himself in an alleged murder-suicide. She discovered the bodies of five-year-old Aria and seven-year-old Remi at Dingwall’s home during a scheduled custody exchange.
Piccolo expressed her anger on social media, stating that Dingwall was supposed to be a protector of their children. She wrote, «I am so angry. But my anger will never outweigh my love for my children». She added that she will always remember them as they were, not for what happened.
Cocoa police confirmed that the children and Dingwall were found dead in his home on October 7. Authorities believe Dingwall was responsible for the children’s deaths, and evidence at the scene indicated a murder-suicide. Following the tragedy, an investigation revealed that a neighbor’s camera captured a man leaving the house around midnight.
In memory of the children, a crowdfunding campaign was organized, where Remi was described as a «strong, kind, and smart boy», - and Aria as a «bright, brave, and compassionate girl». The family noted that Remi and Aria were not only siblings but also best friends who were meant to grow up together and create childhood memories.
