Orlando Bloom reminisced about working with Johnny Depp on their first film «Pirates of the Caribbean» together. During a recent interview, the 47-year-old Brit described how he observed Johnny, 60, getting into character on the set of «The Curse of the Black Pearl», - which was released in 2003.

«Johnny was just in his element, you know?» Orlando said on Thursday, May 9, according to Variety. «He really enjoyed every moment, embodying his character. He created a character that, I think, he really enjoyed playing. It’s fun to see actors really love what they do and have a little laugh at themselves».

Orlando added that he saw Johnny «chuckling all the time» on set. «These were moments he created for the character», - he concluded.

The actors continued to star in the next few films: «Dead Man’s Chest», - «At World’s End», - and «Dead Men Tell No Tales». Johnny appeared in «On Stranger Tides», - but Orlando did not. Johnny played his iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow, while Orlando played Will Turner.

The fate of the franchise was in question for some time, mainly due to Johnny’s legal situation with his ex-wife Amber Heard. As a result of this trial, Disney cut ties with Johnny. The actor from «Alice in Wonderland» stated in court that he would not return to the «Pirates» franchise even if Walt Disney Company offered him a large sum of money.

«I felt a deep and clear sense of betrayal from the people for whom I had worked so diligently», - he said in court, according to Entertainment Weekly. «People who I offered a character that they initially didn’t like, but I stuck with my principles with the character, and it seems to have worked».

Nevertheless, a sixth film was in development. There were even talks of making a film with a female-centered plot starring Margot Robbie. However, the idea never took off. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently confirmed that the new installment will be a reboot, rather than a continuation of the previous films
