28 july 2025 в 05:37
Oscar Piastri has just won the Belgian Grand Prix, and although longtime fans already know all about him, new ones are eager to learn more. The young driver has already won several Grand Prix in his career, and he’s only just turning twenty!
Read on to find out all about Oscar and his racing career.
Oscar is currently 24 years old. He was born on April 6, 2001.
The Australian driver was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.
By July 2025, Oscar had already won eight Grand Prix titles. But his eyes are still set on the big prize: the World Championship, as Oscar previously told Gentleman’s Journal.
«In the long term, I want to win World Championships», - Oscar said, adding, «After all, that’s why we’re all here, right? … Coming from Australia, it’s not easy to get into Formula 1 — you have to make some serious life decisions and changes to make it possible».
Oscar recalled the moment he signed his Formula 1 contract, calling it «very special», - even though it happened «in a gas station parking lot in the UK».
«Even though there was some misunderstanding around it, it was very, very special», - Oscar said of the memory. «It was in a gas station parking lot in the UK, so it’s not the most glamorous place to sign a Formula 1 contract, but it was still a very, very special feeling».
As a child, Oscar knew he was born to be a racer — so much so that he started competing at the age of 9.
«I knew, even when I was karting and racing in Formula 4, that the chances of getting into Formula 1 were so slim, and I always tried to stay realistic», - Oscar previously told Gentleman’s Journal. «My main goal was to become a professional driver and make money driving race cars».
Oscar has been dating his girlfriend, engineering graduate Lily Znaimer, since high school. The couple rarely comment on their relationship publicly, but the professional driver once confessed to Dax Shepard how he and Lily maintain their privacy.
«We keep it a secret, but we don’t hide it like some relationships do», - Oscar said in a previous interview on the podcast «Eff Won with DRS». «We keep it under wraps and try to stay out of the spotlight and just live a normal life»
