Travis Kelsey’s father, Ed, was candid in his thoughts about Kanye West’s song «Lifestyle», - which mentions both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey.
The 47-year-old rapper collaborated with Lil Wayne on a track from his album Vultures 2. In his verse, the 41-year-old rapper sings: «I wrap my cigarettes Taylor tight at the end, like Travis Kelsey». Given his close relationships with both Taylor and Travis, Ed was displeased.
He took to Facebook to share a Daily Mail article on the subject, writing: «A clear manifestation of mental illness».
The long-standing feud between the 34-year-old pop star and Kanye West dates back to 2009, when Kanye interrupted her acceptance speech for Female Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, expressing a preference for Beyoncé's song «Single Ladies». Their conflict has continued for many years, with incidents ranging from leaked phone calls to mentions in songs.
While neither Taylor nor the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player have publicly commented on the song’s lyrics, Taylor is accustomed to Kanye’s behavior. She told fans in her acceptance speech at the 2015 Grammy Awards: «I want to say to all the young women out there, there will be people who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame».
