Music fans were just disappointed this weekend. The Bonnaroo music and arts festival was canceled on Friday, June 13, leading to disappointment for countless fans. The event explained the reason for the cancellation of the multi-day event in Manchester, Tennessee, in a post on Instagram.
«We poured our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special of the year, and we cannot express how broken we are by having to make this decision», - the festival wrote in a statement on Instagram. «Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity, and your Bonnaroovian spirit».

The Bonnaroo festival was canceled for one reason: inclement weather. The event shared an update through its Instagram account on Friday, June 13, in the evening.
«Today the National Weather Service provided us with an updated forecast with significant and steady rainfall that will lead to deteriorating conditions for camping and evacuation in the coming days», - Bonnaroo wrote in the caption. «We are heartbroken, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remaining part of Bonnaroo».
Many attendees set up tent camps to attend the festival, the event acknowledged in the post.
«The most important thing we need from the Bonnaroo community is patience. Some of your neighbors' tent sites are in poor condition», - the event added. «Rain has flooded some areas and made some parts of Outeroo difficult to manage. We would like to prioritize the evacuation of these people, as well as those in need of accessibility, from the Farm as soon as possible tonight».
According to the festival, Bonnaroo ticket buyers can get a refund if they purchased tickets for one day — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — through Front Gate Tickets. Those who purchased a four-day pass through Front Gate will receive a 75% refund. Four-day camping passes purchased through Front Gate will also receive a 75% refund.
Bonnaroo added in the Instagram caption from June 13 that all refunds will be processed within approximately 30 days.
