At the age of 90, Swaggart’s health seems to be deteriorating. According to his son, Donnie Swaggart, the senior preacher suffered a heart attack in June 2025 and «never regained consciousness».
«This morning just a little after 8 o’clock Gabe and I broke into Mom’s house», - said Swaggart’s son to his congregation at the Family Worship Center. «Dad had a heart attack. He never regained consciousness. We took turns doing CPR on him until the ambulance arrived, and I’ve never seen so many people show up at one time, and I want to thank them».
Apparently, Swaggart’s condition has become so critical that his son said «his time will be short», implying that he will soon pass away.
«But they did get his heart beating again», - Donnie pointed out. «He's in ICU right now, and without a miracle, without a miracle, his time will be short. … But we believe in God. We’re not giving up. We’ve already told the doctors we don’t want to hear anything from them. We’ll make decisions in our time. But we’re going to give God a chance to move».
