Patrick Clancy on the tragedy involving the children and the rumors following the trial

Patrick Clancy, in his first interview for the program «60 Minutes» after the scandalous court proceedings, dispelled existing misconceptions, spoke about his silent conversations with his deceased children, and shared the devastating wish he expressed shortly after his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, strangled their three young children.
«I didn’t know all the details about Callan’s condition», - Patrick said about the couple’s youngest child in the episode that aired on September 20. «I just knew that his heartbeat had been restored. I remember thinking that night that Callan had a chance to survive. And I thought, 'Just give me one. Just give me one child, and I will raise him as best as I can and give him the best life I can. I will tell him about his brother and sister.'»
Patrick continued, «I was hoping for that. And then, when I got to the hospital and saw the doctor, I saw the expression on her face and realized that the prognosis was not going to be good».
Callan’s heart continued to beat for four more days before doctors declared his brain dead and he was taken off life support.
«I am so grateful for those four days I spent with him», - Patrick added. «And I am so grateful that he held on».
The father also shared that during those four days, he simply apologized to his son. «I said, 'I'm so sorry.' And I was able… I was able to hold him in my arms. I lay next to him. And he died in my arms».
As previously reported, Patrick was also accompanied by his wife, Rachel Danis, during the interview. The couple defended their relationship amid public condemnation and accusations that Patrick moved on too quickly after Lindsay, 36, killed their three children in January 2023.
On January 24, 2023, Patrick returned home after running errands to find that Lindsay had jumped out of a second-floor window. When he called 911, he was informed that their children, Kora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, had been strangled.
Lindsay was arrested for the murders and charged with three counts of first-degree murder. The couple filed for divorce in 2024, and Patrick began dating Danis in February 2024. They married in April 2026.
While Danis avoided media attention until the «60 Minutes» interview, Patrick was a central figure in the trial and was the first witness to testify.
Throughout the court proceedings, several conspiracy theories began to circulate suggesting that Patrick was involved in the deaths of his children. Some even pointed to the timeline of his new relationship with Danis as a basis for speculation. (Patrick has firmly denied these theories and has never been accused or named a suspect in the case).
After Judge William Sullivan declared the trial invalid on September 4, Patrick’s attorney threatened legal action against those spreading conspiracy theories.
«In recent months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to an unrelenting, escalating, and destructive campaign of defamation», - attorney Howard Cooper said. «This disinformation campaign has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers, and blatant conspiracy theorists who seem to be seeking to boost their social media profiles and potential profits by publishing what they know to be outright lies about Patrick allegedly being involved in the deaths of his young children and other disgusting accusations».
Cooper noted that these theories create «real threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life».
«The dissemination of blatant and unfounded false information must stop», - he added. «Those responsible must understand that there will be consequences, and all necessary measures will be taken to hold them accountable, including legal action. Law enforcement has been notified».
