Patrick Mahomes may be one of the most valuable players in football, but his family is his biggest fans. The 28-year-old father of two was spotted in a new photo taken by his wife, Brittany Mahomes, over the weekend on Father’s Day. In the picture, Patrick was hugging his children, daughter Sterling Skye and son Patrick «Bronze» Lavon, on the couch.
«Hugs on Father’s Day», - Brittany wrote on the image on Sunday, June 16. Both children had their heads on Patrick’s shoulders, while the proud father smiled.
Brittany continued, sharing several photos of Patrick and their children in an Instagram post, including images from a photoshoot and other memories.
«Happy Father’s Day MVP Dad!» she excitedly wrote in her caption. «What you do for this family every day amazes me every day. We are so grateful for you and love you to the moon! Bronz and Ster are crazy about you, and so am I».
Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback opened up about fatherhood during an appearance on CBS Mornings. At that time, Patrick explained how he wants to be a strong example for his children.
«When my kids grow up, I want them to see that dad didn’t just leave to leave», - Patrick said in a July 2023 interview. «I left to go do something, to build, to be great. And so, when they grow up, they can see how hard I worked».
He added, «Coming home and seeing my daughter and son, I understand better what it means to be present and enjoy it. It translates onto the football field. And we continue our amazing streak. But I try to enjoy these moments because I know they’re not forever, even though we wish they were».
As for how he plans to set a precedent for others, Patrick noted that he wants to be someone other parents can think of and say, «Hey, that’s the guy I want my child to be like».
«I try to enjoy time with family. And when I’m on TV or in public, I try to set the right example», - he concluded
