In Minnesota, a man has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault after he allegedly abducted a dental clinic worker. 41-year-old Pau Yang, who worked as a janitor at the clinic in Roseville, was arrested on September 25.
In a criminal complaint filed on September 28, Yang is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of kidnapping, first-degree robbery, and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. According to investigators, a 27-year-old woman encountered an armed man wearing a black mask and gloves, who threatened her with a weapon and demanded her car.
After that, Yang allegedly took her to a nearby forest, forced her to sit on the ground, and covered her eyes and mouth. He also tied her hands behind her back and her legs, took her phone and other belongings, and then covered her with branches. Yang threatened the woman, saying he would kill her if she screamed, and claimed that three men would come to her in 15 to 20 minutes.
Later, Yang allegedly drove her to a location she believed to be a warehouse, where he tied her up again and sexually assaulted her. Afterward, he forced her to undress and take a shower, then dressed her in a new brown dress that investigators determined he had purchased at a Target store.
Yang continued to threaten the woman, claiming he enjoyed killing women and that he had already killed women in Morocco. Ultimately, he released her near a golf course in St. Paul. The woman went to a gas station, where passersby noticed binding marks on her wrists and called the police.
The investigation, including the analysis of surveillance footage from the Target store, helped identify Yang. On Monday, he appeared in court, where his bail was set at $ 2.5 million. It is unclear if he has an attorney. Police reported that investigators worked around the clock to gather evidence and identify the suspect.
