Pat McAfee commented on the controversy surrounding Jason Kelce, who repeatedly used the word «we» while discussing the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. In his show on ESPN on September 30, McAfee stated that those who take his words seriously do not understand the essence of the situation.
He noted that he usually does not get involved in such matters, but believes that Kelce’s use of the word «we» should not spark debates. According to McAfee, this statement was prompted by a post from former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, who supported Kelce, calling him a legend and a future Hall of Famer. Clark added that Kelce has the right to speak as he sees fit and should not pay attention to criticism.
Kelce, who spent his entire NFL career in Philadelphia from 2011 to 2023, also mentioned during his appearance on Monday Night Football on September 28 that the team played well in the first half. McAfee, sitting next to him, joked about Kelce’s frequent use of the word «we», - to which Kelce responded that he forgot about the Chicago fans.
McAfee believes that discussing this issue is an attempt by his critics to stir up unnecessary conflict. He expressed dissatisfaction with the spread of false information about himself and called for an end to such attacks.
