Pete Hegseth has lived his life in the public eye for many years. As an established television personality and political commentator, viewers have shown interest in Hegseth’s personal life. Although the former co-host of Fox News usually keeps his family out of the spotlight, he has opened up about his children in past interviews and sometimes on social media.
In his book «In the Arena», - Hegseth urged his sons to join the military when they grow up. An excerpt from his letter reads: «If you take this oath, I hope you take it to the end. Your father didn’t know the difference between the Army and the Marines when he enlisted. I wasn’t from a military family. But when you join, you’ll learn. And I strongly recommend you join the best. SEALs. Rangers. Green Berets. Marine Raiders».
«I urge you to show courage in this decision. You are men. Act accordingly», - Hegseth wrote in another part of his letter to his children. «But if you choose not to serve in uniform, that’s your choice. Then my request to you is to fight and lead at home, because our war is on all fronts. I love you, boys, and I pray that your struggle, like mine, means that your children (and may there be many!) and my grandchildren live in an America that honors God, values freedom, celebrates families, and lives in peace».
Hegseth is a father and stepfather to a total of seven children.
Hegseth is married to his current wife, Jennifer Rauchet. The couple married in 2019. Previously, Hegseth was married to his second wife, Samantha Deering, from 2010 until their divorce in 2017, after Jennifer, who became his third wife, gave birth to their first child.
From 2004 to 2009, Hegseth was married to his first wife, Meredith Schwarz. They were high school sweethearts. After Hegseth admitted to several affairs, he and Schwarz divorced, according to The New Yorker.
Hegseth has four biological children and three stepchildren. He shares one daughter with his current wife, Jennifer, and three more children with his ex-wife Deering. Hegseth is also a stepfather to three of Jennifer’s children
