Pink closed the 2024 Democratic National Convention with an emotional performance of her song «What About Us» alongside her daughter, Willow Sage Hart. During the final night of the DNC on Thursday, August 22, the 44-year-old pop singer and her 13-year-old daughter performed with a group of vocalists and musicians before Kamala Harris accepted the nomination for president.
Willow had several solo moments while singing alongside her mother, and the audience in Chicago applauded the teenager for her strong vocal talent. The whole group delivered powerful harmonies, with Pink hitting the higher notes, and received a standing ovation from the audience.
Pink shares her daughter, as well as her 7-year-old son, Jameson, with her husband Carey Hart.
This is not the first time Willow has taken the stage with her mother. When she was just 7 years old, Willow recorded Pink’s song «A Million Dreams (Reprised)» for the musical film «The Greatest Showman».
Although she has not publicly endorsed Kamala, 59, Pink has long been an advocate for women’s rights, which the vice president promised to protect if she wins the 2024 election.
In 2022, the «Raise Your Glass» singer spoke out against the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Pink took to Twitter (now known as X) to tell anyone who supports the controversial action to «never» listen to her music. Additionally, she condemned those who oppose same-sex marriage and racism.
«Let's be clear: if you think the government should be in a woman’s womb, in gay affairs or marriage, or that racism is okay — THEN, FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR GOD, NEVER LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN [sic]», - Pink wrote in a now-deleted tweet, according to PEOPLE. «AND ALSO GO F**K YOURSELF. Are we clear?»
In a subsequent deleted tweet, the «Try» singer told followers that she believes «all of our nerves are collectively fried from so many years of racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc. + pandemics, mass shootings, wars and total insanity, Republican party hypocrisy, ignorance — it’s all a bit much [sic]».
«But we will stick together», - Pink noted at the time, adding, «Good will prevail over evil»
