Dolly Parton’s nephew, Brian Seaver, has been dismissed from his position as head of security for her properties. According to TMZ, on September 16, he and his company were notified that their services were no longer needed. Seaver and his team were required to leave Parton’s property immediately, including her main house in Nashville, museum, and warehouse, and were replaced by new security personnel.

In the letter to Seaver, it was stated that his dismissal would not affect his personal interests in Dolly Parton’s estate. A representative of Seaver’s security company, SAPS, expressed dissatisfaction with the unexpected and so far unexplained actions of Parton’s will executors following her death. He added that the team intends to fulfill her final directive to protect the family and will not succumb to pressure from those whose actions, in their opinion, are aimed at profiting from Parton’s life.

Seaver’s dismissal came as a surprise, especially considering that he was responsible for announcing his aunt’s death on August 25. In a video posted on Dolly Parton’s official Instagram page, Seaver noted that it was a great honor but also a difficult moment. He shared memories of how much he learned from Dolly when she first took him on tour in the 1980s.

Following his statement, a representative for Dolly Parton confirmed that she passed away after a «brief battle with cancer». The statement said that Parton brought joy and hope to people throughout her life, and her generosity touched the lives of many she never met. In light of Dolly’s death, Tennessee lawmakers announced plans to rename Nashville’s international airport in her honor.
