Dolly Parton’s nephew, Brian Siever, is accused of threats and intimidation in a lawsuit filed by her manager, Danny Nozell, who is seeking a temporary restraining order. The lawsuit was filed on September 22 by She’s Alive, LLC, which Parton appointed to manage her business interests after her death on August 25.

The documents allege that Siever used his experience as a military contractor, access to weapons, and capacity for violence to extort money from Parton’s estate. The alleged intimidation began weeks before her death. According to People, Siever described himself as «literally an international arms dealer and mercenary».

In one message, he allegedly stated, «Her money should be more than I can make anywhere else, or I’m going to take everyone out. I’m going to be the hand of vengeance for my whole family». In another message, he threatened to create a podcast dedicated to destroying Dolly’s brand and exposing the violations committed against them.

Siever, who was appointed by Parton to publicly announce her death, told TMZ in an interview that his messages were taken out of context. He confirmed that he is a professional military man and conducts arms deals for foreign governments, but insists that nothing in the lawsuit constitutes threats. Siever explained that his comments were about specific business partners who harmed Parton.

Earlier this month, Siever and his companies were notified of the termination of services for Parton’s estate. His team expressed dissatisfaction with the unexpected actions of Parton’s estate and confirmed their determination to protect her family.
