The award ceremony for the best in the film industry BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) of 2025 took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16. Some of the biggest winners of the evening were the films «Conclave», «Brutal» and «True Pain», which was written, directed and produced by its star, Jesse Eisenberg. Jesse even accepted the award for «Best Supporting Actor» on behalf of his film partner Kieran Culkin, who could not attend the ceremony due to a family member’s illness, as Jesse explained in his speech.
«He is in New York with a family member who is very ill», - Jesse explained, adding jokingly, «And he is such a devoted family man that two weeks before filming started, he tried to leave my movie because he didn’t want to leave his children».
Maggie Madison was also awarded in the category of «Best Actress». Although Demi Moore from «Substance» was a major winner this awards season, BAFTA chose Maggie for her performance in «Anora». When her name was called, she jokingly remarked that she «should have listened to her publicist when she told me to write a speech».
«I just want to take a moment to acknowledge the sex worker community», - Maggie added in her speech. «I just want to say that I see you. You deserve respect and human dignity. I will always be a friend and ally».
