Yes, Ariana Grande’s voice doesn’t always sound the same, so what? The 30-year-old performer of the hit «Yes, and?» clarified in a new comment why her tone has changed significantly in a now viral video from her interview on «Popcrushed».
Responding to a TikTok video from a fan who asked if Ariana had a «voice change», the Nickelodeon alum commented: «Habit (speaking like that for two years) and also vocal health».
Ariana continued: «I intentionally change my vocal technique (high/low) often depending on how much I sing».
She concluded her response by noting: «I've always done this UNTIL».
In the clip, Ariana discussed her music with «Popcrushed» host Penn Badgley. At the beginning of the video, the «Victorious» alum spoke with a lower tone, then quickly transitioned to soprano through a few moments.
Social media exploded with fluctuations in Ariana’s voice tones, and many users expressed their opinions on the matter. One Twitter user wrote recently: «Regular Ariana appeared for a second», while another wrote: «VOICE CHANGE, PLEASE HELP ME».

Discussing «Wicked» in her recent podcast appearance, Ariana explained how she prepared for the role, despite already being an experienced pop singer.
«Glinda is a soprano, like an opera soprano, not like how I’m a soprano in my pop career», she emphasized. «It's just a very different placement in the voice, and I just trained it and trained it because, even though the notes were there, it’s a different placement and a complete change in singing, so I wanted to train my muscles… I went every day and trained to learn the tools I needed for singing and to be Glinda in every way».
