Poet, activist, and performance artist Andrea Gibson passed away on July 14, 2025. They were 49 years old. Using gender-neutral pronouns they/them, Andrea was known for their poetry on identity and LGBTQ+ politics. Their inner circle, including Andrea’s wife Megan Falley, announced the death in a touching message on Instagram, which began with a quote from the late poet: «When I leave this world, be it in 60 years, I wouldn’t want anyone to say that I lost some battle. On that day, I will be the winner».
