Just after turning 39 on March 28, 2025, Scooter passed away after sustaining a leg injury while fleeing from the police, Variety reports. Atlanta police officers responded to a 911 call about «a dispute with shots fired and a woman being dragged back into a house», - the police said at a press conference, according to 11 Alive.
«When officers arrived, the man initially opened the door, then closed it in front of the officers without communicating», - the police told the public. The officers then «established a perimeter», - and two men «fled» from the area. One man returned to the house, while the other «jumped over two fences», - fleeing.
Authorities added that no weapons were used on their part. «Just to be very clear, the injury he sustained was not from officers on the scene. It occurred when the man was fleeing», - the police added in their public statement, according to Billboard.
Police added that «when officers found him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered a leg injury. Officers provided assistance, and he was taken to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead».
