The casting director of the series «The Shards» is definitely worth paying attention to. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis and is set in 1981. The actors chosen look like young stars from the '80s. Graham Campbell resembles someone who could call a teenager Molly Ringwald «poor». Homer Grier looks like he could be one of James Spader’s cocky friends in a teen comedy-drama. And Kaia Gerber? She looks like she’s about to host MTV’s «House of Style».
These are photos from London, where the actors of «The Shards» have been promoting the show for the past few days. Last night, the premiere took place at 180 House. Kaia wore a transparent Fendi dress with ruffles, which, to be honest, looked great on her. She is now 24 years old, and it seems to me that she has gone through a late growth spurt, as if she has grown three inches in the past year. Perhaps it’s just because of the heels. Recently, commentators discussed whether Kaia had undergone buccal fat removal to look less «baby-faced». It could be true, but then again, some young women naturally lose their «baby» face in their 20s. She is definitely styled to look older and more like her mother.
It’s funny that Cindy Crawford’s daughter and Richard Gere’s son are now working together on a show set in the 1980s. Gere and Crawford were married from 1991 to 1995. They didn’t have children, but now their kids are working together. Apparently, Kaia and Homer met for the first time when the cast of «The Shards» gathered before filming began.
