Greenland, a self-governing territory of Denmark, has attracted the attention of President Donald Trump since 2019. This idea has received support from Republican congressmen, such as Representative Buddy Carter (R-Georgia), who this week introduced a new bill to rename Greenland to «Red, White, and Blue Land».
«America is back and will soon be even greater with the addition of Red, White, and Blue Land», - Carter said on Tuesday after introducing the bill.
«President Trump correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we proudly welcome its residents to join the freest nation when our Chief Negotiator signs this magnificent deal», - he added.
The bill, titled the «Red, White, and Blue Land Act of 2025», aims to implement the name change to ensure that official documentation and maps refer to the island by its new name. The goal is to transform the island, making it less «green» and more resembling the Great American Flag
