Prince Jackson continues to feel the emptiness left by his father on the 15th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s passing.
On June 25, 2009, the world was shocked by the news of Michael Jackson’s death from cardiac arrest. It was later determined that his death was ruled a homicide. A medical examiner concluded that «circumstances indicate that propofol and benzodiazepines were administered by another person. Propofol was administered outside of a hospital setting without proper medical authorization. Standards of care for propofol administration were not followed».
The 13-time Grammy winner passed away at the age of 50, leaving behind three children: Prince, Paris, and Blanket. The eldest was only 12 at the time. He is now 27, and Prince posted a photo of the «Thriller» star at halftime of Super Bowl XXVII in 1993 with the caption: «Miss you, Dad». «The world was better with you in it».
Many fans gathered at the cemetery where Michael rests in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, where many other stars are buried. But others, like the Jackson siblings, found time to honor his memory on social media.
Michael’s older sister, 68-year-old LaToya Jackson, posted on Instagram with a video featuring various images of the singer with the appropriate audio from Michael’s 1993 song «Gone Too Soon».
«You changed the world with your amazing talent in so many ways!!! We love you! We will always miss you! 😘Gone too soon! 😘I miss you and will always love you 😔[sic]»
Michael’s older brother, 70-year-old Tito, shared on his Instagram Stories a professional photo of Michael from his «Bad» era — the title of Michael’s 1987 album. With the same 1993 song that LaToya added to her Instagram video, Tito also made sure «Gone Too Soon» was added to his story. «#15yearswithoutmichaeljackson», - he wrote on the photo of his brother.
Finally, Michael’s eldest brother, 73-year-old Jackie, paid tribute to Michael on Tuesday. On Instagram, he uploaded a picture of him and Michael in their early days in the Jackson 5 group. «Hard to believe it’s been 15 years without you. We miss you every day», - Jackie captioned his post
