Viewers will learn more about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new program on social media during the upcoming interview on CBS. The Duke of Sussex, 39, and the Duchess of Sussex, 42, will appear together with Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning, Page Six reports. This will be the couple’s first joint television interview since their shocking conversation with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
The interview will air on Sunday, August 4, and the duo will discuss how parents should be the «first responders» for their children in times of stress from social media.
«All you want to do as parents is protect them», - said Meghan, who is raising children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with Harry. «And so, seeing what’s out there in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done».
As for Harry, the former royal family member noted: «We're just excited to be part of the change for the better. We’re at a stage now where almost every parent should be a first responder. And even the best first responders in the world couldn’t identify signs of potential suicide. That’s the scary part of it».
Meghan and Harry are actively advocating for changes in children’s relationships with social media. In October 2023, the spouses spoke on a panel in New York with parents who had lost children, all of whom emphasized that major tech companies need to change their apps that can impact mental health.
The last time the audience saw the Sussexes together on television was with Oprah in 2021. During their interview then, Meghan and Harry made shocking revelations about their time in the royal family before they stepped back from active membership in 2020. Without naming anyone specifically, the duo claimed that a senior member of the royal family asked what color Archie’s skin would be before his birth.
