Prince Harry shared Meghan Markle’s reaction to his successful parachute jump in Canada. The Duke of Sussex, who is 42 years old, made the jump in Toronto after promising 102-year-old World War II veteran Ed Marshall that he would jump with him to raise awareness for war-related charities. When Marshall was prohibited from jumping due to medical reasons, his grandson Bailey replaced him and jumped alongside Harry.

In an interview with CTV on September 25, Harry revealed that he immediately called Meghan after completing the jump. When asked by the interviewer if it was difficult to convince her to let him jump, Harry replied, «I didn’t need to convince her, but she was relieved when we landed. The ascent took quite a while, so I think she was thinking, ‘Have they landed yet?'»

Harry joked that he blames Marshall for convincing him to jump. «I just blame Ed. I said, ‘I can’t, I don’t want to do this, I’d like to avoid it,' but Ed is very persuasive!» he noted.

Harry also emphasized that he could not back out of the challenge after giving his word to Marshall. «Ed was very excited about it. There’s no version of this where you let down a 102-year-old veteran», - he said. Harry added that Marshall was fitted with a parachute, and they thought he might jump himself, but he is glad that didn’t happen and that he is still with them. Marshall will soon turn 103.

After six years living abroad—first in Vancouver and then in Montecito, California—Harry and Meghan returned to the UK with their children, Prince Archie (7 years old) and Princess Lilibet (5 years old). Meghan, who is originally from California, moved to Britain after her engagement to Harry in 2017. The couple stepped back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020 and left the country with their son Archie. Their daughter Lilibet was born the following year in California.

Harry and Meghan, who married in 2018, have not publicly disclosed the reasons for their return to the UK. After their move, Harry’s father, King Charles III, confirmed that the couple is no longer working members of the royal family. Harry had been estranged from his father after the move, but they have since been working on reconciliation.
