Prince William returned to social media almost a month after his wife, Princess Kate, announced her cancer diagnosis to the world. Although William, 41, did not mention Kate’s health in his latest post, he signed the note with his initial, «W».
«Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with @Lionesses, @RachelDaly3. Now even more goals for Villa! W», - he wrote in his tweet on Wednesday, April 10. Prince William referred to the news of football player Rachel Daly’s retirement from the women’s team.
William’s tweet comes against the backdrop of a huge crisis in his family, as both his wife and his father, King Charles III, have been diagnosed with unknown forms of cancer this year. On March 22, Kate, 42, shared a video on their social media account, saying that she and her husband «have done everything possible to deal with [her cancer diagnosis] and manage it privately for the sake of our young family».
The spouses are raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis together. Kate appeared alone in the video on social media.
«I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding as I recovered after the operation», - Kate began her speech. «It has been an incredibly tough time for our whole family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am very grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at that time it was believed that my condition was not cancerous. The operation was successful. However, after the operation, tests showed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am currently in the early stages of this treatment».
Acknowledging the «incredibly tough time for [her] whole family», Princess Wales also noted that she has a «fantastic medical team». She also claimed that she «feels good and is getting stronger every day».
Praising William for being a «great source of comfort and support», Kate concluded the video, telling fans that their family needs «a little time, space, and privacy» as she focuses on her medical treatment
