Prince William is preparing to return to his royal duties for the first time since his wife Kate Middleton announced that she has been diagnosed with cancer. William, 41, has spent some time caring for his and his wife’s children (Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5) while they were on break from school, but he will return to royal duties after they go back to school.
An insider revealed that William will return to his royal duties once his children’s vacation ends, according to a report from People on Tuesday, April 16. While the Princess of Wales, 42, undergoes treatment, he has taken on the responsibility of caring for the children. The children will return to school on April 17, and he will return to royal duties the next day. This will be the first time he participates in royal duties since Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March. The couple did not join other members of the royal family during the Easter celebrations at the end of March.
Kensington Palace announced that on Thursday the prince will mark the work of public and environmental organizations in London and Surrey. He also plans to visit a charity organization distributing food called Surplus to Supper at the beginning of his day, before heading to a youth center in west London that receives supplies from this organization.
Kate announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer after an abdominal operation in a video message on March 22. «However, tests after the operation showed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy, and I am currently in the early stages of this treatment», - she said. «We hope you understand that as a family, we need a little time, space, and privacy right now as I finish my treatment. My work has always brought me deep joy, and I look forward to the opportunity to return when I can. But right now, I need to focus on full recovery»
