Princess Kate and Prince William have released a joint statement regarding the tragic attack that occurred on Monday, July 29th, at a Taylor Swift-style dance class in Southport, England. According to Merseyside police, three children died as a result of the incident, and several others were injured and hospitalized.
«As parents, we cannot imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of those who died or were injured in Southport today are going through», - wrote William, 42, and Kate, 42, in their statement. «We send our love, thoughts, and prayers to all those involved in this horrific and appalling attack. Thank you also to the emergency services, who, faced with the most horrific scenes, showed compassion and professionalism when your community needed you most».
King Charles III also released a statement on behalf of himself and his wife, Queen Camilla, through social media, calling the incident «horrific» and «appalling».

«My wife and I are deeply shocked by this absolutely horrific incident», - wrote the 75-year-old monarch. «We express our deepest condolences, prayers, and deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who tragically lost their lives, and to all those who have been affected by this truly horrific attack».
The following day, Merseyside police confirmed that the three children who died were aged 6, 7, and 9.
«A 9-year-old girl passed away in the hospital early this morning, Tuesday, July 30th», - authorities wrote in their official statement. «We can confirm that the children who died yesterday were 6 and 7-year-old girls. Eight more children sustained injuries from knife wounds during the attack, and five of them are in critical condition. Two adults are also in critical condition after being injured during the incident».
A 17-year-old man was arrested at the scene of the crime, but additional details about the suspect and motive are still unclear. Authorities stated that the suspect entered the dance and yoga class armed with a knife and attacked the entire group of children and adults.
This violent incident has shocked the entire UK. While strict laws on weapon possession exist in the country, knife crime is described as a growing national crisis
