Princess Anne, according to reports, has returned home after being hospitalized for «minor injuries and a concussion». According to multiple sources, the 73-year-old member of the royal family was discharged from Southmead Hospital in Bristol, England, on Friday, June 28.

Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, confirmed this information in a statement received by Sky News.

«I would like to express my deep gratitude to the entire team at Southmead Hospital for their care, professionalism, and kindness during my wife’s short stay», - he said in his statement.

Earlier this week, Anne’s husband provided an update on her condition, thanking the medical staff and emergency services for their professional care. Tim also noted that both he and Anne were deeply touched by the kind messages they received from many people, both close and far, adding, «It means a lot».

On Monday, June 24, Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that Anne had been taken to the hospital after an unknown «incident».

«The Princess Royal sustained minor injuries and a concussion as a result of an incident at Gatcombe Park estate last night», - the statement read. «Her Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precaution for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery».

Anne’s brother, King Charles III, was also «carefully informed» of the Princess Royal’s condition and «joins the entire royal family in expressing his most sincere love and wishes for a speedy recovery to the Princess», - the palace added in its statement.

Anne’s hospitalization comes against the backdrop of a tense year for the British royal family. Charles, 75, and Princess Kate were both diagnosed with unspecified forms of cancer. While the king returned to his public duties shortly after the diagnosis, Kate, 42, explained that she was postponing her return to work in a video message published by Kensington Palace in March.

However, earlier this month, Kate attended the annual Trooping of the Colour event with her husband Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the day after updating the public on her condition.

«I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good and bad days», - Kate wrote in a lengthy Instagram post published on June 14. «On bad days, you feel weak, tired, and have to give your body rest. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of your good health»
