Princess Kate has the support of the whole world as she continues her battle with cancer. According to reports, the 42-year-old royal received gifts from a local senior school in the UK, and her husband, Prince William, was the one who accepted sweet «therapeutic» messages on her behalf.
According to PEOPLE, St. Michael’s Church of England Senior School included Lego sunflowers in their gifts to the Princess of Wales, because «building things is therapeutic, and sunflowers symbolize happiness, positivity, and strength», - said the school’s mental health representative Kerry Whitehouse on Thursday, April 25.
Kerry added that sunflower seeds are known as «seeds of positivity», - but noted: «We didn’t want to give flowers, but something meaningful to symbolize the theme of the day».
As for William’s reaction to the gifts, Kerry explained: «He thanked us and said that the Lego would be liked at home». The school staff also noted that they presented the Prince of Wales with a knitted starfish for Kate, «which comes with a story about changing the lives of others».
Earlier this month, it was expected that William, 41, would return to his public engagements after the school holidays of him and Kate’s children. The royal couple is raising their sons Prince George and Prince Louis and daughter Princess Charlotte together. The family was not seen at Easter celebrations at the end of March, when Kate announced her cancer diagnosis.
«In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at that time it was believed that my condition was not cancerous. The operation was successful», - she explained in a video statement. «However, after the operation, tests showed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of this treatment».
During the video, Kate noted that it took time for her and her family to come to terms with the news.
«It took me time to recover from major surgery to start treatment», - she said, adding, «But most importantly, it took us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that was appropriate for them, and to reassure them that everything would be okay with me».
Kate concluded the message, emphasizing that she needs «space and privacy» during her treatment
