Princess Kate shared an update on her health with fans in a post on Instagram published on Friday, June 14. Next to a bright portrait of herself leaning against a tree, the 42-year-old royal detailed her journey with chemotherapy and how much the support of the public means to her and her husband, Prince William.
«I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and inspiration over the past few months», - Kate wrote. «It has truly made a huge difference for William and me and helped us both get through some tougher times».
The Princess of Wales then noted that she is «moving forward», - but acknowledged that she has «good and bad days», - something that «anyone going through chemotherapy knows».
«On those bad days you feel weak, tired, and you have to give in and rest», - Kate noted. «But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to take the opportunity to feel good».
As for the duration of her chemotherapy, the royal noted that it «continues and will be for several more months».
«On days when I feel well enough, it is a joy to interact with school life, spend personal time on things that give me energy and positivity, and start doing some work from home», - she added.
Kate then noted that she will return to the public this weekend at Trooping the Colour, also known as the «King's Birthday Parade», - writing that she is «looking forward» to attending the event with her family and hopes to «participate in a few public events this summer, but understanding that I am not out of the woods yet».
«I am learning to be patient, especially in times of uncertainty», - she concluded. «Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time for healing. Thank you for your ongoing understanding and to all of you who have bravely shared your stories with me».
