Princess Kate has completed chemotherapy in her battle against cancer, as she shared in a new video message. The 42-year-old royal shared the positive news through social media on Monday, September 9, noting that it was a «relief» for her to «finally finish [her] treatment».

«The past nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family», - explained Kate in both the video and her written statement. «Life, as you know, can change in an instant, and we had to find a way to navigate choppy waters and uncharted roads».

In the video attached to her message, Kate is seen with her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, walking through the woods and countryside in England. The clip was synchronized with a slow piano melody in the background.

Kate also described the «difficult» and «scary» journey to recovery that she went through due to an unknown form of cancer.

As summer comes to an end, I cannot express how much of a relief it was for me to finally finish chemotherapy.

«The journey of battling cancer is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those close to you», - she explained. «With humility, it also forces you to confront your vulnerabilities in a way you’ve never considered before, and with this new perspective on everything».

As for what she and her 42-year-old husband, William, learned during this trial, Kate noted: «This time has primarily reminded William and me to pause and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that so many of us often take for granted. Simply to love and be loved».

Regarding her goal for the future, the Duchess of Wales noted that she is dedicated to remaining cancer-free.

«To do everything possible to remain cancer-free is now my goal», - she explained, adding: «Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to recovery and full restoration is long, and I need to continue to take each day as it comes».

Now that she has completed chemotherapy, Kate acknowledged that she is «looking forward to returning to work and attending several more public events in the coming months, when [she] can».

«Despite everything that has happened, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and the value of life», - she concluded. «William and I are extremely grateful for the support we have received, and draw great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. The kindness, empathy, and compassion of everyone have been truly humbling. To all those who continue their own cancer battle — I stand with you, hand in hand. From darkness, light can emerge, so let that light shine brightly».

Kate announced that she was diagnosed with cancer in March, almost two months after she underwent a scheduled operation on her abdominal cavity.
