Michael Desronville, juror who disagreed with the decision of the other 11 jury members in the high-profile case of Lindsay Clancy, shared additional details about the reasons for his dissent. In an interview set to air on October 15 on Fox News, he noted that there were tense moments during the deliberation of the case.

Desronville claims that he had no reasonable doubt that Clancy, 36, should be held criminally responsible for the murder of her three children — Cora (5 years old), Dawson (3 years old), and Callan (8 months old) — in January 2023, when she was suffering from documented mental health issues following childbirth. However, he did not provide specific evidence to support his opinion of Clancy’s guilt.

According to him, he had a lot of evidence supporting his position, but he chose not to disclose it out of respect for the other jurors and the judicial system. Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued throughout the trial that she should not be held criminally responsible for the deaths of her children due to her mental illnesses, including postpartum depression and psychosis. The prosecution insisted that despite her mental health issues, Clancy was aware of what she was doing when she killed her children.

After Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4, Reddington changed his position and stated that there was no evidence that Clancy had actually killed her children. On September 29, he and Clancy returned to court for a hearing, where Reddington asked the judge to acquit Clancy, arguing that the prosecution had not presented sufficient evidence of her guilt. At the hearing, he also noted that Clancy did not remember how she killed her children when she regained consciousness in the hospital after a suicide attempt.

As of now, it has not been decided whether the case will be retried.
