Fans of Natasha Lyonne are recalling the health issues she has faced over the years. From hepatitis C to open-heart surgery, the actress’s health has been tested multiple times. However, in April 2026, she raised concerns again when reports emerged that she was removed from a Delta Airlines flight after the premiere of the third season of the series «Euphoria».

According to Page Six, Natasha, seated in first class, did not respond when flight attendants asked her to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt before takeoff. After she apparently «dozed off», - her laptop was taken from her hands, and a Delta employee eventually approached the celebrity asking, «Ma'am, do you need medical assistance?»

At one point, according to the report, the employee said, «Ma'am, I need you to leave the plane. Do you need help with your things?» Natasha then asked, «Where are we?» to which the employee replied, «We're still in Los Angeles. The plane hasn’t gone anywhere… The plane won’t take off until you leave it».

After Natasha was reportedly escorted off the flight, the captain informed the passengers, «We have a passenger who for some reason… did not follow some basic instructions… We had a passenger who seemed to be struggling, so they were asked to book another flight — I apologize for the inconvenience, but we will get you to New York as quickly and safely as possible».

At the time of publication, Natasha had not commented on this information. Learn about her health history here.

Natasha was hospitalized under a pseudonym in a Manhattan hospital in 2005 for several reasons, including hepatitis C, infectious endocarditis, and a collapsed lung, according to Today.

At that time, Natasha was also undergoing treatment with methadone for heroin addiction.

In 2012, Natasha underwent open-heart surgery after endocarditis damaged her heart. She spoke about her health in a 2019 interview with WBAA.

«You know, my heart — it was because of endocarditis, which is a kind of staph infection», - joked the actress from «Orange Is the New Black». «And, you know, back then they said I would have to deal with it for the next 10 years. Basically, your valve is now kind of flipped and not working properly, which can lead to terrible consequences, namely sudden death. That’s not something you want to happen».

Natasha was arrested for driving under the influence in 2001 and went through rehab for drugs and alcohol in 2006. In a 2012 interview, the Golden Globe nominee admitted that at that time she «definitely felt like she was dead» when her life spiraled out of control.

«Many people don’t come back. It makes me feel cautious and insecure», - she confessed. «I wouldn’t want to take pride in that».

Natasha’s sobriety lasted until early 2006 when she relapsed again. In one of her deleted tweets in January 2006, she wrote that recovery «is a lifelong process».

«Anyone who is struggling, remember, you are not alone», - she continued. «Grateful for love and smart legs. Stay honest, guys. We are sick with our secrets. If no one told you today, I love you. No matter how far we fall, we will see how our experience can help others».

Two months later, Natasha updated her fans on X about her journey to sobriety. She said she «feels much better and is back on her feet».

«I strive to keep this journey as personal as possible, but I look forward to sharing my experience, strength, and hope when it’s appropriate», - Natasha added. «My heart is with everyone going through this».
