Jonathan Majors was arrested on charges of assaulting a woman named Grace Jabbari, with whom he had a previous relationship. The choreographer accused the Marvel Universe actor of hitting her during an alleged argument in early 2023. In April 2024, he was sentenced to a year of counseling, without imprisonment.

After being found guilty in December, Majors gave his first interview on Good Morning America in January. He admitted to being shocked by the verdict in this television interview.

Majors' trial began in late November 2023. Jabbari testified about their relationship in court, and audio recordings of his arguments with her were presented. A 911 call recording made by Majors on the day of his arrest was also presented. In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of third-degree reckless assault and harassment. However, he was acquitted of second-degree assault and first-degree harassment.

Following the guilty verdict on December 18, 2023, one of his lawyers released the following statement on behalf of Majors. «It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the car, because they concluded that Mr. Majors did not intentionally harm her», - the statement begins. «We are grateful for this. However, we are disappointed that, not believing Miss Jabbari, the jury nevertheless concluded that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless when she was attacking him», - the note continues.

It is also noted that he intends to clear his name. «Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, friends, and fans for their love and support during these difficult eight months», - the note adds. «Mr. Majors still believes in the process and looks forward to fully vindicating his name». Shortly after the verdict, PEOPLE also confirmed that Marvel Studios plans to «end its collaboration» with Majors. Some of his recent work with the studio includes «Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania» in 2023.

Jabbari is a choreographer and dancer who previously dated Majors. She has also appeared in box office hits such as «Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning: Part One» and «Barbie».

Majors and Jabbari accused each other of assault during an alleged argument in March 2023. He was arrested on multiple assault charges: three charges of third-degree reckless assault, one charge of second-degree harassment, three charges of attempted third-degree assault, and one charge of second-degree harassment. If found guilty, Majors could face up to a year in prison, according to multiple sources.

The star of «They Are Cruel» categorically denied the allegations against him, stating in a statement with his lawyer Priya Chaudhry: «Jonathan Majors is innocent and did not assault anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the district attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully vindicated».

In addition to the case against Grace, Variety reported that several women have come forward with assault allegations against Jonathan in recent years.

While Majors awaits the upcoming trial against Jabbari, she also surrendered to authorities in October regarding the incident in March 2023. TMZ reported that Jabbari allegedly scratched the actor’s face, causing a cut on his cheek, and tore buttons off his coat.

Jabbari’s lawyer stated: «Grace is very strong. We are disappointed when survivors are treated as criminals». Majors' lawyer, Dustin Pugh, expressed his position in a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

«With her arrest yesterday, the public learned that the New York Police Department has identified the crime»
