The disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother: new details of the i
The apparent abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, has captured the attention of the entire country. Nancy was reported missing on February 1, 2026, and authorities have repeatedly informed the public that they have been unable to identify a suspect or a person of interest. However, ten days into the investigation, they finally discovered a key detail: a surveillance video showing a masked individual approaching Nancy’s door in Tucson, Arizona.

According to the video released by the FBI on February 10, the person, wearing a full-face mask and black gloves, approached Nancy’s home and attempted to tamper with her security cameras. FBI Director Kash Patel issued a statement regarding this footage, stating: «Over the past eight days, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, damaged, or inaccessible for various reasons, including the deletion of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data in backend systems».

«Working with our partners, law enforcement discovered previously unavailable new footage this morning, showing an armed individual apparently attempting to damage the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s door during the early hours of her disappearance», - Patel added.

Here’s what we know so far about potential suspects in Nancy’s disappearance.

As of the time of publication, authorities have not disclosed any details about the suspect.

In the early days of the investigation, unfounded rumors circulated about Savannah’s brother-in-law, Tomazio Chioni, the husband of Annie Guthrie. CNN reported that police were seen at Annie’s home during the search for Nancy, but authorities did not disclose the purpose of their presence there.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department refuted all speculation about potential suspects in a public statement released on February 4.

«At this time, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case», - the statement read. «Detectives continue to communicate with anyone who may have had contact with Ms. Guthrie. Detectives are working closely with the Guthrie family. While we appreciate the public’s concern, spreading unverified accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not aid the investigation»
